The problem it solves

TikTok covers work differently from YouTube thumbnails: the cover is a frame of the video itself, chosen in the app after posting, and a scheduled upload never gets that moment. Whatever frame TikTok picks is the one your profile grid shows.

What we are building

Cover selection will mean choosing a frame from the finished video, or generating one in the series style with its own line of text, and sending it with the upload so a scheduled post is not left to the default.

No release date is promised. If you want it, saying so is the fastest way to move it up the list: accounts created from this page are counted as interest in it.

What you can do today

There is no cover picker, so TikTok chooses. The one lever you have is the opening scene, which is generated from the first line of your script: write a first line that implies a strong image and the frame TikTok picks is usually better for it.

Questions

Can I set a cover image today?

Not in AutoReels. Open the post in the TikTok app afterwards and change the cover there, which takes a few seconds per video.

What size should a TikTok cover be?

The same 9:16 shape as the video, which is what AutoReels generates when you choose the vertical aspect ratio.

What about YouTube thumbnails?

Those are a separate image rather than a video frame, and they are covered by the AI Thumbnail Generator page, which is also in development.
